Everyone almost ready for Christmas?? I’m not quite yet but getting there. 😉 To get into the Christmas spirit I thought I’d do a Christmas themed Snapshots interview. My first participant is my friend and soon to be sister-in-law Sarah Parker! Read on to find out how she and her family celebrate Christmas and learn what her favorite Christmas movie and songs are. 🙂
Favorite Christmas Song?
carol of the bells by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Favorite Christmas Movie?
Obviously it’s to celebrate Jesus’ birth, but I also see it as a time to give back and spend time with family.
First and/or favorite Christmas Memory?
Definitely when Santa would come to my house. He used to leave hay behind from his boots because he had been in the stables or he’d leave sleigh marks in the yard, and write me letters. It was awesome.
Any family traditions?
On Christmas Eve my immediately family and I go to my grandmother’s Baptist Church for a candlelight service, and then we go back to her house and eat steak and fried shrimp and we just hangout and then open gifts. On Christmas Day, I still have to see what Santa brought me. And then we go over to my other Grandma’s house for lunch (basically another Thanksgiving). We just enjoy time we get with family.
Santa Clause or no Santa Clause, how did your family approach that topic?
“Santa! I know him!” We still believe in Santa because it is just a fun tradition that it is hard to let it go.
Favorite Christmas treat?
Eggnog. I know that’s not a dessert but I consider it to be one.
How do you prepare for Christmas?
I always decorate a tree with pretty much every ornament I made in grade school, bake cookies, and wrap gifts while blasting Christmas music.
